Telenor IoT and Verizon Business Forge Strategic Partnership to Expand Global IoT Services

Telenor IoT and Verizon Business have entered into a strategic partnership to strengthen international IoT connectivity, providing customers with global IoT services.

Telenor and Verizon, two global leaders in telecommunications, are proud to announce a strategic collaboration for international IoT.

The partnership aims to deliver global IoT services to enterprises, unlocking new possibilities and simplifying connectivity on a global scale.

The initial focus of the partnership is to fortify and expand the eSIM-based network access and service footprint of both companies. By combining their network assets and managed IoT capabilities across Europe, Asia, and North America, Telenor IoT and Verizon Business will provide seamless access to their respective networks for IoT customers.

With this collaboration, Verizon’s customers will effortlessly tap into Telenor’s comprehensive network services and management in Europe and APAC. Similarly, Telenor’s customers will seamlessly access Verizon’s extensive US network. Enterprises will have the ability to manage and optimize local Verizon and Telenor profiles, empowering customers to further broaden global roaming-based network coverage and also directly leverage Verizon eSIM IoT connectivity services whenever required.

Looking ahead, the partnership will focus on fostering additional collaboration to bring significant benefits to global enterprises. This strategic alliance aims to deliver innovative solutions that will drive industry advancements and provide enhanced growth opportunities for businesses worldwide.

Debika Bhattacharya, Chief Product Officer, Verizon Business says: “The move toward global IoT reflects the reality of doing business in the massive IoT era. The number of IoT devices is expanding rapidly and fleets are fanning outward, so our customers need flexible, reliable connectivity that moves across borders. With partners such as Telenor, Verizon will be able to provide that – a globe-spanning footprint with seamless eSIM IoT connectivity.”

Mats Lundquist, CEO of Telenor Connexion and Head of Telenor IoT, says:

“The US is a key market for many of our global customers. Together with Verizon we can streamline our customer’s solutions and supply chains while enabling even more reliable access to the US market. This includes local network functionality, which is a catalyst for the next generation of consumer services as well as 5G-enabled critical services.”
